Hubcaps

Postby Jason2009 » Thu Sep 17, 2009 8:11 am

With the economy the way it is I don't want to be going and buying new rims and tires right away. But I'm not sure I like the stock caps on my Aveo5
So when walking through a local department store I see caps for a pretty cheap price.

So today on the way in to work I stopped and picked them up. I fugured I'd try them and see what I thought. I can always take them back.

Unfortunatly I think I may have to take them back anyway because they don't seem to want to stay on there good. Any suggestions on that?

Anyway here is a pic what do you think? Better or worse than stock?

I'm deciding if I wanna mess with them much more before returning them.

Does look better.
If you look at the pics of my car, you will see I have hubcaps on.
I only plan to upgrade to rims after my tires are dead.

Thats exactly my thinking. Why change off good tires. I'll get a year or so and then maybe upgrade. But for now I think I'll put these caps on and see how well they stay. They are cheap enough @ under 20 for the set. i just hope I don't loose them.

They look better than the stock ones anyways...for hubcaps. I had some for a while that fit a 14" rim, but the have an extra 1" all the way around so they make your wheels look like 16's.

Well guys I put them all on and drove home. Hit a bump and popped one off. Had to turn around and find it.

I think I figured out the trick though. Its like the tabs were molded in to much. I bent them alittle (just pushed on the plastic until it bent a little) I did all of them and reinstalled. Seemed to hold them on alot better. Hopefully they hold. If not they go back.
