      • INCREASES POWER TO THE WHEELS: 15% smaller in diameter than the stock pulley. This turns your accessories slower which frees up more horsepower to go to the wheels.

      • LIGHTWEIGHT: Substantial 78% weight reduction from the stock pulley which reduces rotational inertia - 5.5 lbs OEM vs. 1.2 lbs

      • DIRECT BOLT ON: The E-tec II underdrive crankshaft pulley is a direct replacement for your stock crankshaft pulley.

      • EASY INSTALLATION: Installation takes about 30 minutes.

      • QUALITY: High precision CNC machined aluminum. Made in the USA.

      • This part fits the 1.6L E-tec II engine in 2004 - 2008 Aveos.

      ================================

Years ago, Darin and I developed and had a few underdrive pulleys manufactured for the etec II Aveo engine (2004-2008 Aveos). Over the years, we've had interest from random people who want a pulley, but we've long since sold out of them. We didn't do another production run because there didn't seem to be enough interest. However, its been a while now, and I am trying to gauge if there are enough people to justify another production run.

The pulleys are made of aluminum and are substantially lighter than the stock steel pulley. They're also a bit smaller in diameter so the spin the accessories slower. Combined, these benefits add a few horsepower to the Aveo. Many of the buyers were very happy with their purchase.

Here is more info on the pulleys:

      http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f104/...-2008-a-11233/

So, if you're interested, the price will probably go up a bit as it has been years since the first run. The first run was $154 shipped to the lower 48 states. However, it will depend on how many people are interested. The more people the lower the cost.

Let me know in this thread if you're interested and I can get a quote from the machine shop.

Yup... sadly, doesn't seem like there are many others though...

I still need to replace my head as I've blown a timing chain things aren't looking good...So since I'm in that far, I might as well swap this out too when I replace things. Any ideas where to find a good valve train?

No issues with the charging system or power steering? I don't have a/c in mine. Any info on what belt would be needed?

There have been no reported issues with charging or power steering.

The belt is recommended to be replace with a 730k6 vs the OEM 740K6. I go through the entire install in this DIY I wrote up:

Great to see there is still some interest in these. Please let me know soon if you're interested. We are looking to put our order in with the machine shop quite soon, and we want to make sure we have enough for everybody.

Great news. We have worked with our machine shop and were able to get our order placed last week. The ETA on the pulleys is early next month! I'll keep you updated as things progress.

A quick little update. All things are on track with the pulleys. They should be done by early September, and be available to be shipped out to you by mid September.

As a way to kick start things, we've decided to give a discount to the early birds. So, if you order now, you can get your pulley for $139.99, $10 off the normal price of $149.99! Once we get them in stock, they will be sold at the normal price.

Check out the first post in this thread to see how to order.
