What you see in the picture is a 1 inch universal spacer for 6.5 inch speakers.

The only thing i had to do is drill new holes in the door to install them, 4 self tapping screws did the trick.

The speakers don't touch the door panel when its installed and the windows go down without hitting the speaker.

      screw the type-s,
i went to buy a brand new 5.25 inch component, kicker comp. $170
and i seem MUCH more do-able to fit it there.

!!!!!!hey, take a closer look the the original speaker spacer, the top part of the spacer is thinner than the lower part of the spacer, , but, can i still make a 1" thick spacer? absolute 1" thick, not like the original up thinner down thicker.

i need to know, next few days is the only chance of the week i can do something,
      i woek 14 hours a day

You should be able to pop out the plastic overlay around the radio with a flat screwdriver, be carefull not to force anything too much, it is plastic after all it will break. I'm not sure about the 09's but the 1st gens there are 4 screws behind the plastic covers that hold the deck in place you just pull it out.

      3/4 inch board and a 4/1 inch board makes a 1" spacer.
      thanks for the advice. people.

Gezz man, i know its cool to fabricate your own stuff and all but all that work for 2 spacers you could have bought at Walmart for less than 7 buks... I bet it cost you that much if not more for the materials you used, plus the time to make them.

Some things just aint worth the effort to make yourself imo, nonetheless nice job.

Heres a link to the walmart spacers:

Walmart.com: Scosche 1" Universal 5.25" Or 6.5" Speaker Spacer: Auto Electronics

the board is a scrap boad from home depot, $3 each,
took less than half hour to cut them
i rather make my own than go to buy wal mart,
the wal mart spacer you probly need to drill some new hole on your doors .
i am using the factory screw holes, and the factory screws.

nice demonstration of the removal of the deck, but i already did, before your post.
