      ABS fault No code, 2004.

In 2004 ABS was an add on option. We have been having an ABS fault indication every time it rains, clears after a couple dry days but not this time. In the past, apply brakes hard activated the ABS as if one of the sensors is bad. Local shop attempted to read the ABS fault codes while I was in getting the struts replaced, but no code is set. Seems as if the ABS has been deactivated but there is no code. I checked both ABS fuses. Anyone Is there a reset?

      Thanks

I'll post this in the troubleshooting section too.

By the way, checked the service manual and this is what it says. Just wanted to check if this is something common with a known fix that would save some time :

I was given a 2007 aveo5 LS with the only issue being my sunk tons of money trying to get the ABS system fixed. With no codes thrown by the ECU. She gave it to me and said if I can fix it I can have it. Title in hand.

First, I jacked up the car and removed all the wheels. With the help of my nephew I bled the brakes to insure there was no are in the lines. Next, Being that the rear ABS sensors are tucked inside the drums I focused on the front. I located each front sensor but was unable to remove them so instead I sprayed each sensor with WD-40 extremely heavy then again with Brake parts cleaner. Next, I took a clean cloth and used 2 flat-head screwdrivers and (like floss) used them to pull the cloth back and forth over the sensor.

Once you're done both front ABS sensors Insert the ignition key, turn but don't start. Then turn back to off position then to accessory then off and then start it. You're front when should still be off. Put in drive or 1st gear and the ABS warning light should disappear.

This is exactly how I fixed mine.

Hit me up if you have any questions. I'll be happy to assist in any way.

Thanks, I'll have to try cleaning the front sensors before trying to replace them. I replaced the rear sensors. They were cheap enough but probably unnecessarily as I found that when the wheel bearing went bad it coated the inside of the drum with fine metal particles, much of it collecting on the sensor. I probably could have got away with just a clean. The car is usually 400 miles away at school, so I only get a chance to look at it once in a while for a few hours, so I need to be well prepared going in.

I can pull the F4 fuse to extinguish the ABS light, as well as the clock, without getting a check engine light.... but she likes the clock
