is there an easier way to calculate what width wheel will fit on my car with no body modifications?

i was told i could just pull a tire and measure like 9" (8" for the width of the wheel and another 1/2" on each side for tire) and if its still in the wells it should work... or if i want 7" wheels measure 8"... will i have problems turning with an 8" wide wheel??? next...

yes, come to find out the heat the engine made and the heat from the coils when i went back from PA to NY the housing of the coil melted and started some arcing between the plug and coils.

Whats the code of the 09 and up trans axle? Like my cherokee is an ax4 transmission.. does anyone know? Ive heard that our trans is shared with hondas and ive heard that the only diff is ratios in 5th gear are different but im not sure.
