Re: Gas mileage gone bad?
My milage is down a little bit right now, but only because my car hardly ever reaches operating temp. I go out and let it run for about 10-15 minutes before I drive it to work. After about 8-10 minutes of driving it will climb slowly up to operating temp, but if i get stopped at a red light or have...

Re: "Performance Chips Direct" For Aveo
I also believe its fake because arent the new cars made with that OBDII thing that doesnt let you chip anything on ur ECU? Kinda. At first, the chip might give you better power. But as soon as you run the car until it warms up (goes into closed loop mode) monitoring the oxygen sensors, the ECU will...

Well sucks about the mounting holes being damaged... Good to hear stiffer mounts really help getting rid of the drivetrain sloppiness. I'll have to do this if I keep the car.

Re: Alternator upgrade
I still don't get why you'd run such a system daily in a car...Really. I have a 140W AB Amp pushing a 150W RMS sub in a sealed box...Plus upgraded speakers (components in the front, 2-way in the back with a decent head unit) And I see no reason to go bigger or louder. My system is loud enough to giv...

Re: Turbo 1.4 Optra HUNTER THIS IS FOR U!!!!
I'd say most performance shops will be knowledgeable with at least one aftermarket ECU. I talk to them about it, see what they recommend. If you run into troubles down the road they would have the experience to tune/fix it for you.

Yeah the studs are pressed in. You can easily change them with a big hammer and punch.

Re: D16 Specs from GM
Well that's good to know. Although it seems that the Aveo could use better mounts... Feels like the engine is all over the place in the Aveo, and when I drive other cars, I immediately notice how "tight" the engines are. Response is better and it doesn't jerk you around.

Re: D16 Specs from GM
The tolerances are fixed when building the transmission. Meaning, it can take 135 ft-lbs everyday and last for the lifetime of the vehicle. That said, if you put more power through the transmission than what it was designed for, you are reducing its lifetime. There is no way to predict when the tran...

D16 Specs from GM
Great News! Found the official specifications for the D16... Well it's not so great. The transmission can only take 135 ft-lbs at the input shaft. That would probably explain why Nemasys blew his D16 to pieces when he went to the drag strip. linky! http://archives.media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en/produ...
