Wanting 09 aveo 5 AC kit

Postby chad396a » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:00 pm

I got an 09 aveo. It don't have AC installed. The GM dealer said i can order the kit to have it installed but that's 1400$. A lil more than i was hoping to pay. Any tips on getting a bolt on AC kit a bit cheaper?

Also has any one successfully installed a DIY cruse control switch on an 09 2 gen car?

buy they parts used, the condenser and evaporator are there most likely.

you will need:

the three a/c lines (new or used, new adds up to @ $350)
pressure switch (will come on a used line, new is @ $75-100)
compressor (buy used, like $50-100 new oem is over $600)
climate control switch (interior button, buy used, new is like $200 some)
o rings to replace if buying used ($10)
mounting bolts
serp belt

bolt everything on, plug everything in, get it charged and enjoy.

I would not use used o-rings I would use new one's just to be sure you do not have to open up the system after you fill the thing with Freno, because if the leaks you have to pay to refill it change the leaking o-rings.
the new o-rings will last longer then used one . just my thoughts on that. The most two common places for leakes are the O-rings, and the Condenser
