Manual Shift Knobs?

Anyone know of a good site that has Reverse lock-out shift knobs? I looked around and saw a few momo ones, but didnt like the color. I'd really love a T-handle, but I think that's out of the question as we have no threads on our shifters. I guess I'm just looking for a simple but performance looking knob that's not any taller than the stock one.

if i am correct from the other posts i have seen, the reverse lockout is actually separate from the actual shift knob.
so you could take the knob off, cut the press diamond thing off the shifter, and then use a pipe threader to put threads on the shifter, and use any knob you want. as long as you dont mount it too low to interfere with the lock out..

Well that maybe OK if you have no warranty or you don’t care about it.
The only shifter knobs I’ve found myself are from Momo and damn there pricy.

I think if you leave the reverse lockout intact without interfering with the mechanism at all there should be no problems with warranty. I'm gonna look for a new shifter this week. Maybe I'll break out my thread tools and just thread the damn thing. Then I can put a T-Handle shifter on it and stencil AveoNetwork.com on the top. That would be cool.

what warranty are you going to void replacing a shift knob?

I would not touch the pull up leaver, changing the knob is fine. It’s just so hard to find a pull up knob. Cutting or removing the reverse pull up will affect your warranty for your transmission. That’s at least what the dealership has told me.

it shouldn't. the shifter mechanism into the tranny will work exactly the same. the only thing i could see it voiding is the shifter lever in the car.. and that is the part you modified.

i need to look at mine more closely, but i dont see why you couldnt put a know on and leave everything else alone.

that is right, a fit comes with an alarm. :P

i would find a different dealer, i know western pa has more dealers than anywhere. we were hit hard be the dealers closings. but if there is another on in driving distance, i would take it there.

Yeah, there's no problem changing shift knobs. The reverse lockout mechanism isnt connected to the knob itself, just the shift lever.
