Pillar pod build

Postby white rat » Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:23 pm

I'm in school and I can't afford to build the monster motor for my trike but I have resin and glass, so pod time it is.

Here's the start of my gauge pod. I'm not sure how many or which gauges I'm using in mine but the ol'lady's ride will get a volt and vac.

This one is just 2 layers of woven roving. The next one or two (if I don't like the first one) I'm going to layer 2 woven roving between chop mat. I'm thinking I might just glass the pod right on to the pillar.

I'm going to mold this pod for the gauges to sit in.

I got the pod casted, made my first pod, cut it up and re-glassed it to fit the pillar. Now all I have to do is cast the new pod and pillar and I can make them. I need to make a few pods to see if I can cram 4 on my pillar.

Here's the pics.
