I'd use a breaker bar on the Crank pulley..

Will the vibrations from the impact affect the bearings?? Thats what I was worried about.

My Hitachi impact..18v will Almost remove Lugnuts. They usually need a start with a tire iron.

It will tighten them up nearly 100% though.

if you have enough oomph out of the impact the bearings will be fine because the crank wont move, the bolt will just unthread.

but if its not turning out, and your just vibrating on the impact hammers (know what i mean?) then the jerking motion could potentially wear the bearing funny since its rocking in the wrong direction.. but even though the impact does have more power (force) than the combustion stroke, which happens 3200-3400 times per minute during idle., its exerting the same turning force. so the bearings should be ok for the 2 seconds it takes to break the bolt loose.
