He mentions HDTV, car sensors, pop up dash screen head rest screens GPS, mobile internet, bluetooth...no way 600 bucks. Can't even get a good (I emphasize good) GPS HU for 600 bucks. The HU capable of all that will be 1.5 to 2K alone

i wasn't even thinking head unit, you can buy a computer that does all that. well, except touch screen, head rest screens, but they have a port in the back for screens.

When i did mine i bought a working $1200 laptop with a cracked screen off ebay for $200, (i know it worked because it was shown hooked up to a monitor, and conversation)
i spent about $300 on a touch screen, and another $100 on wiring, a FM modulator to keep the radio, and a keyboard etc..

But i guess if you want a head unit to do that, it will be big money.

The computer sound will use the Aux port so the audio from the PC will use your stock or aftermarket headunit.

the laptop had RCA cables out of it to go to a tv. yellow red and white. i ran the yellow to the aux screen option, and the red and white i ran "straight" to the inputs of the amp.

Yeah I'm down in Bradenton/Sarasota. I was just in St Pete the past two months rotating at St Pete General for med school. I was doing a nephrology rotation up in Larghetto at Largo medical center and suncoast.

I've got a pretty boring ride. 07 LS Sedan, 5spd and window tint. Not much going on really, I've been spending too much studying lately.
