That's great to hear eramirez. Sorry to hear about your little mishap, but overall the Aveo can take a pretty good beating. It's a fantastic little car. Welcome to the forums buddy.

yeah, I think the Aveo book says 5000 miles too, 3k miles is not needed, but 6k-8k would sound right to me, synthetic oil should last a little while longer if it does not break down

Its great that others are clocking higher mileage than my original post! I'm still driving my 04 Sedan, and now the wife is rockin in the 07 Hatchback. I just hit 110K miles and also now have a 140 mile per day round trip commute so I guess I'll be changing oil a lot sooner and timing belts will come up quicker. I really pushed the limit on my last belt and changed it at 91K miles which I posted at the original club website with pics before we moved over here.

Re: 100000 MILES AND DOING GREAT!
Ok all not to ressurect a dead post but I guess I'm doing this mainly for myself as some type of "blog" or record of my driving.
Well my winter commute and the 70 miles per day are over, the car now has 114K on her. I was travelling from my home to Vernon,NJ everyday to operate a shuttle bus for skiers at Mountain Creek Ski Area. For those of us on the East Coast it used to be called Action Park in Vernon Valley/Great Gorge,NJ. The car held a consistent 30 mpg. Since fuel is so much cheaper out there as opposed to all the taxes here in NY I always filled her up with Gulf super unleaded. I was able to fill up the shuttle bus with diesel, then fill up my little car with super, and pay the complete fuel bill at the end of the week on the company credit card. Not a bad deal I must say. Not a hiccup, or any problems with the car at all. I truly feel that I'll hit 200K. The transmission is still tight and shifting properly as well. I decided that I'd like new struts and shocks so I looked into ordering them and found the website www.kyboutlet.com which had the shocks and struts as a complete package for $209.00. They also offered for an additional charge strut bearings and shock boots at about $10.00 extra per unit. I then dropped off my car, prepared to have everything replaced by my local mechanic only to be told that nothing was needed and my front end was perfect. How could this be? 114K and still on OEM stuff? I do however need to replace my front brakes which I will do soon. In closing I just wanted to say that for a car I bought brand new in July of 2004 and paid $9K for out the door, it never cease to amaze me. Go! Go! Gadget Wheels!

lol nice to know your aveo holds up very well.
People don't credit how reliable this little car can be because they only focus on the fact that its part daewoo.
