100000 MILES AND DOING GREAT!

Postby NYChevoo » Sat Oct 10, 2009 3:20 am

Hey all, this new forum is really awesome! I'll miss the old one but not all the spam. Anyway, I wanted to tell you all that after 5 years and recently hitting 100000 miles my 04 Aveo is doing great. I'm on my 3rd set of tires, 2nd set of brakes and my 2nd timing belt. I really pushed the envelope on timing belt wear and had it changed at 91000 miles. The original belt was still in good condition with no cracks but I didnt want to push my luck anymore. My reason for posting this is over the years I have read articles bashing the Aveo, forum members come and go, lovers and haters of the car, but truthfully I cant complain. I never have to date had any major mechanical problems with it, I've changed my oil every 3000 miles and never beat on her with the ocassional pushing the speed up to 95 - 100 mph just to blow out some carbon which probably doesnt do any good anyway. Would I buy another one? Absolutley but I like the 04 to 06 model years. So for those of you owners who are new, and those of you on your way to 100000 miles I wish you all the same good ownership experience, for those of you like me who have crossed the 100K barrier you all know what I'm talking about. Heres to the next 100000 miles! See you at 200K!

didn't we have a member on the old forum with 185k miles on this or was I just dreaming?

anywho, it's good to know the aveo is still going strong after 100k. Kinda makes me want to keep it till I run it in the ground to see how long she'll do.

Congratulations nychevoo, that's great to hear. It's gonna take me a long time to get to 100k. I've had my aveo since March 13th and I just finally ticked 5000 miles the other day.
