idk, but itll be easier to find an import garage and attempt to convince them to look at making parts for the aveo, though, GM would make a ton of money off the parts around the world, but not in america

i know i am guilty of this too, but not so much because of money more because of parts specifics that i want.

but there is availability of some Aveo parts from a few locations, if their business grows in demand, then more will be produced. But your demand also has to include purchases. Take ultra racing for instance. how many people actually bought something? lots of complaints on pricing and such, but they offered something and no one bought. where as if they sold a lot of them their competition would see the sales as advertising increases, and then offer products too. And that is how the aftermarket grows.

honda doesn't have a lot of aftermarkets parts available because they sell a lot of cars. they have a lot of aftermarkets parts available because a lot of honda people buy those parts.

The aveo is lucky because like hondas many hondas it is in the world market, so the aftermarket for it could be huge. because companies could sell world wide, if they were willing.

so instead of bitching that "nothing" is available, try buying what is.

There are still things you can have done like a cam regrind. I elieve that the specs for it are on daewootech but are only for the e-tec motors, not the eco-techs. After you buy some stock cams and have the work done, you really arent paying mch more than for a aftermarket set. Or you can have a UD pulley made for not too much money. Just do some research and you will be surprised at what you can do or have done.

people think honda's are racecars :D shops in tampa laugh at the idea of making anything for the aveo :(

i know what your talking about, ive been in a hole though for a while, but i plan of buying the front and rear strut bar from ultra racing in FEB

though one problem with the aftermarket for the aveo is it is a bit expensive for most people, i do not mind it myself

what about getting a group purchase going through ultra racing? Atleast on one or two parts here or there that way it cuts the cost a little and keeps the thought of making more aftermarket parts for the aveo alive. Atleast thats what we did for the cavaliers on JBO. Overkill Engineering Motorsports is a place that won't mind creating aftermarket parts for almost any car that has a decent amount of followers/enthusiast. I think they are located in florida i'm not sure though.

The problem is, right now is bad timing with the holidays coming up and also with most group buys, in order for it to even be worth its salt you have to generally have at least 10 people ready to cough up the money for it at the same time. This is not a crazy big board to begin with and alot of us on here have families and bills to look at first before thinking of custom one off pieces. Its always a great idea though and if you want to do a group buy on a part or parts, your best bet would be to try in spring when workwill start picking up and people will have their holiday bills paid off or some credit loosened up to buy them. Times is tough right now! Right now is a good time to talk the talk though and make plans, but please people, dont say anything about a group buy unless your 99.9% sure you can commit to it. One person bailing out at any given moment can screw up the whole thing.

I'd get into it also in the New Year. I'm still looking for a cold air intake, bolt on sport muffler with brackets attached and odds and ends.
With winter settled in want be doing any work until the spring on my car.
