do cars get cheaper closer to summer or the other way around?

they get cheaper the closer to the new models coming out you get.

if you want an 09 for example, the best time to buy it based on price is when the 10's are on there way and the dealership needs room.

used car prices fluctuate on availability, design match (if the same as current model worth more, if one mdel previous still worth some, if two model designs back a little less), and depending when they came out / off leases,. if you want an 08 for example, the price will come down when all the 2 year leases get turned in because availability will drown demand.
