Postby Denis » Tue Feb 23, 2010 6:03 pm

so my mom just came back with the car, and said "it does not churp when i lock it", so i checked it out and the alarm does not arm when i lock the car, and does not go off if i open the door with the key, and the red led does not blink when i lock the car

is there a fuse or something, any one have this problem?

does the aveo have an alarm option? Fuse or a lose wire I would say, or something shorted out

its OEM alarm

oh this is geting better and better, so i walked out to get something from the car and the alarm works, as soon as i go back into the house, it goes off, i run out, turn it off, and in about 10-20 seconds it goes off again

so i unlock the car and lock it with the key so that way the alarm is off

go out to buy eggs, lock the car and the alarm does not work again, come back unlock the car and lock it back up just to check and it works, 30 seconds of being armed the siren goes off. get home lock the car, and the alarm does not work again.

seriouly WTF, the only thing i can think off is that my aveo found out its being replaced soon and its geting back at me LOL

Check you fob batt. if that what your using to arm the alarm. If it good, you have a short bad contact (cuting in and out) clean or fix. Find the wires trace back check them and the contacts points.

I had that problem before, the hood pin got corroded. There is a TSB on that (in Canada anyway). Remove the screw for the hood pin and check the connection.
