Yes, the engine will also develop more power if you put in the Forenza ecu from the States, its rated at 126 hp / 131 lb-ft while the Canadian Optra is rated at 119 hp / 126 lb-ft. I dont know why but it must be due to emissions laws or something.

I think ill try to get my hands on a Forenza ecu after winter.

So the clutch is different spline from Aveo? Aveo is 24 spline.

You can use the 1.6 clutch assembly no problem (in fact i think both the 1.6 and 2.0 use the same clutch kit), the flywheel needs to be replaced tho, the 1.6 flywheel bolt holes just barely dont align on the 2.0 engine.

Frankly im amazed it lasted that long cause in quite a few occasions i had to boost the car to start it. It also sat for 6 months without any charge in it. Let's just say that at the point it was at, if i wasnt using the car daily, it wouldnt have enuf power to crank the engine lol.

Thing of the past now lol

Yeah it did, I had my battery replaced, under warranty, the first year. They put a larger battery in, it just seemed so small and it couldn't hold a charge worth crap. Sometimes the manufacturers cut corners to make the car cheaper where they shouldn't, I feel. But it does get pretty cold up here, so I'm taking that into consideration. Been almost 2 years on the larger battery and everything has been perfectly fine!
