04-08 aveo5's are exactly the same. I'm about 90% sure the earlier aveo5's are still 3 pieces, the lense, the housing and the middle chrome piece...that's the one I painted. Same procedure, you may just have screws in different places is all. Anyone with an aveo earlier than 09 w/ the black headlight mod wish to clarify on this?

yea im bout to do this mod on my sedan version but healights r exactly the same as the hatchbacks....
The middle chrome plate is held on by i believe 3 screws around the housing after you seperate it from the glue.
It is still 3 pieces like the new ones.
