Wonder if the head bolts / bolting locations are the same on the etec and the ecotec engines....

thats almost as easy as comparing head gaskets, just need to make sure oil and coolant passages are the same as well..
the biggest issue with swapping heads is usually making a timing belt work..
but going from eteciII 16v to an ecotec 16v would be a lot of work for a lateral move.. it would be better to port / deck the head you have,,
going from 8v to 16v would possibly be worth it.

Yeah, I'm mostly just wondering if it would be possible to go from the 1.6 Ecotec block to the old-series 1.8, and keep the head.
