A question just came to mind when i remembered this thread..... how much does the 11:1 pistons increase hp? is it worth getting on a automatic tranny?

i would say about 15-20 maybe, i am getting some camshafts in the fall though

alone, high compression pistons are only a few % so like 5 hp at most for us to go up to 11:1, but the % is depending on the difference in ratio.

Its what else the pistons let you do the really matters, with more aggressive cams and matched injectors, you get more air/fuel in there and then compress it more to multiple those benefits.. etc.

Mine pistons are 11.1:1. With shaved 2mm head. it's near to 12.1:1 compression or higher. I tried dyno with 285 duration cams customer from uk. 1720cc forged rod n piston output 155hp and 201 Nm on the wheel. I think this info is useful for those who want to go NA. I would say get the 8.8:1 piston and boost it. NA not worth the money spent. I am boosting with the high compression now but do not dare to rev too high, scare it will burst the engine. I have walbro fuel pump, fuel regulator and tuning in ignition timing and fuel cycle. Butt feeling is about 250 hp. Win stock Rex anytime. But actual dyno figure I do not have. I don't dare to rev above 5k.
