Re: Cams
give it a few more months, as the pin outs and such become available you may be able to drop a 1.8 or 1.4t cruze motor right in and just plug the computer into the harness.. with the 6 speed. and both of those will have a lot more aftermarket support.

Re: Cams
Yea but on a school budget cant really do much lol. I guess with this refund ill buy me some black/red bucket seats lol. And i still have to find the number of the ecu so i can call upsolute back and see what they say. For some reason though i have doubt it would work because the lacetti they have on the website says 109 hp. The aveo was only rated 103 hp.

Re: Cams
hp "ratings" are different for different reasons.. the exact same engine/ecu in the r32, was 241 hp, while in the tt it was 250..
i was going with engine codes, lock numbers, etc..

Re: Cams
Im having trouble finding the ECU number. Not sure exactly which number it is. Do i have to remove the ecu to find the number or is it one of the 2 long number/letter sequences on the side of the ecu?

Re: Cams
XAHC seems to be your code, but its not that simple.. it would still require a test run:

Re: Cams
hey just a little something to input into this here was talking to my friend the other day and he has told me apparently the engine in the 05 down kalos (uk edition) has the engine from a vaxhaul astra same as a corsa to there was one more but i forget but yeah the basis being here that for these engines if this is true i know there are alot of after market tuning options out there however i am unsure if the coding e.c.t is the exact same across the brands. something to look into perhaps

Re: Cams
Thanks rabbit. And i wish that was true because there are alot of astra/corsa parts out there. Not sure if it is or not though. I have to recall upsolute to see what kind of number they wanted again i forgot if it was one of those you posted or another number.

Re: Cams
that goes along with what i have come across, all the "GM" cars using family 1 engines have the same set of engines. just finding which one went were to know what matches up.. like stated in the chip tuning thread.
its hard for a US person to verify anything without taking an aveo engine to europe to directly compare. But from all the posts, and build threads ive been through, it seems accurate.
