I did that on my Daytona, I used 0gauge amp wire and just bought an aluminum boat battery box from walmart. I stripped my whole interior out for weight reduction and I didn't want to see those big ass wires so I ran mine inside the subframe rail, it was a pain in the ass but it looks better and it works great.

nice, the new optima batterys are gel i believe so i really wouldnt have to worry about getting a box, though i would still mount one in the back annyways

i think im going to strip the interior after i get my other car, and take out the back seat and spare tire, should reduce quite a lot of weight

i also need to lose some weight myself, i can go down about 50 pounds

if you are looking for weight reduction, get a braille battery. but it is actually something relabeled. so do a search for braille relabeled and find it cheap cheap. its a good battery and will power everything in the aveo except a big radio.

but if you are going for weight reduction, you wouldnt have a radio.

Yeah, I stripped everything in my daytona. The only thing I left was the dash and my drivers seat which is a BRIDE racing bucket. I got an optima in mine too. Every 100 pounds you remove from your car will shave 1/10th of a second off your quarter mile time. I had my exhaust disconnected at the header anyways, so I just took the rest of the exhaust out. It sounds ungodly. :D

You guys ever consider just building a go cart it's prolly a hell of alot cheaper than scraping a perfectly good Aveo. and they weigh a shit ton less too.
