1.6L Corsa VXR turbo manifold fits Aveo engine
Perhaps some of you should look at the Corsa VXR as the 1.6L is factory turbocharged and would be a nice simple drop in engine for the Aveo.

I've never seen one in person, just google'd it...that is a sexy car. So, better idea...sell your aveo and buy a Corsa VXR.

Re: Corsa VXR factory turbocharged 1.6L
My friend likes his Turbo Aveo.... his daily driver is an EVOX ( calls it his winter beater )
Myself.... I like the Calibra I have coming in more than the Corsa or Aveo.... I already have too many cars.... otherwise I'd be tempted to buy a Saturn Astra and convert it to a VXR edition.
I don't know if I mentioned... I'm from Canada.... so we have the rule where you can import anything you want as long as it's 15 years or older.... so I can bring in 1994 and older Opel Corsa's Astra's Calibra's Vectra's

Perhaps if one of you mods have time you can pull the info on this Z16LER manifold over to this thread so people see it.

Is it a different 1.6 or based on the same engine? are the internals different? Could this stuff be adapted to the stock block and head?
It is a sweet looking car though...Why swap when you can trade, I wonder if these are available statewide?

Re: 1.6L Corsa VXR turbo manifold fits Aveo engine
GSEturbo from Daewootech is going to match the exhaust manifold gaskets to see exactly how close the old Aveo and new Aveo manifolds are.
He also confirmed that he felt the Z16LER manifold will bolt right on to the 09 Aveo.
Perhaps I'm a bit out of the loop..... but as far as I'm concerned the 09 Aveo is the same basic design as the older Aveo.... just slightly different head and new electronics package
Yes... there have been some changes..... but the lower block should be the same... which means the ports should be the same with respect to spacing.
If the spacing is correct and the bolts are located in the same spots in the center of the ports the only thing that can screw things up is if the bolts are higher or lower.... but to me they look the same.... I did some photoshop work today and I have to think they match up.
Needless to say.... I hope that GSEturbo can confirm the possibility of using this manifold in conjunction with an EGR plate ( which he could make for someone )

Wait, wait, wait!!!!! OH EM GEE!!!!! Theres a Vauxhall/Opel dealer just 5 minutes from my front door (with a tiny Chevy showroom attached!)
Plenty Corsa and Astra VXRs around here. Would the whole engine from the Corsa fit my car?
I got a huge stiify now!
