and i would love to swtich my aveo to manual if i had the $2k for all the parts to make it a stick
but i cant at the moment thats y i was asking if theres any turbo mods you can do to a Auto

yeah, the auto tranny would take on a turbo, but the ecu will have to be remapped of course, and begging some import shop will run you 800 dollars, the more costly part of a turbo set up

other than that, the auto tranny aint so bad, swapping would be a horrible idea i think, would take too much work, time and money

i think i have said this before, but an auto to manual swap is kind of common for vw owners. I think in my area i know 4-5 people who have done it, usually it takes amateurs a weekend, and the pros a long day. But that is with a definite list of what you will need.

I my own opinion if i was going to do this to the aveo i would be the whole 2.0 and d20 driveline (much like nemasys's car) and swap it in. then you would "basically" unplug the computer, disconnect axles, hoses, etc. while it is out you could switch shifters, swap k frames, and put the whole thing back in as one unit.

then for about the same price as piecing together a manual swap i am sure you could find a rear ended daewoo whatever that the setup comes out of..

is the regular LT cobalt a 2.0 anyway?

you need it to be a daewoo product.. i dont know them all that well. Nubria? or something. I think the suzuki reno might even be one that works. you will need nemasys to confirm what his swap is out of, and go from there.

and if i didnt want to upgrade to the 2.0 can u message me a list of parts that i would need to turn it to the regular manual aveo

Idk, maybe its just me but you can find used aveos so cheap wouldn't it be worth it to buy a manual aveo and sell your automatic to pay for mods on the new one?

All you people talking about swapping to manual. Why didnt you just buy the car off the lot with a manual gearbox instead? You already payed 1500 buks for the auto tranny in the 1st place.
