Hey I was wondering if there is anything that you can do performance wise to an automatic transmission?
Like turbo system, etc.
If you can even turbo an auto trans.

better fluid, get a custom stall convertor, rebuild the tranny with upgraded clutches (probably not available for our car), if it is electronic controlled, you can upgrade programming and change shift points (again probably not available on our cars) or you could swap to a manual.

hmm didnt u say swapping to manual would be costly...
so thats all u can do to an auto?

I believe the auto trans can withstand a bit more power than the manual.

i would think that if you can upgrade to manual for other cars you can upgrade to autos from other cars. but it would be more involved i imagine.

but a manual swap is only costly if you pay someone to do it. otherwise it only costs as much as parts

You can still turbo a car that has a automatic transmission, it's just not as performance savvy. You have complete control over your rpm range in accordance with boost in a manual. EDIT!

and i would love to swtich my aveo to manual if i had the $2k for all the parts to make it a stick
