SS is expensive, most professional exhaust shops would use an Aluminized steel which prevents it from rusting. If you live near the ocean or the city salts your roads in the winter you kinda screwed regardless. I just took out my rear muffler and did an axle back set-up temporarily. I intend to remove all mufflers and resonators and do a 2.25" system from cat back into a Flowmaster 60 series and pipe it out the driver's side before the rear wheel under the back door.

Mandrel bends are overrated. Just go 2" with regular bends and you'll be fine. If you want the flow of 2" full mandrel, just get 2.25" with regular bends.

the real question is what is your purpose for the exhaust? if you're going car show route or total stripped track car then SS mandrel is what you need for looks/weight savings, but if you're looking for those things then go with titanium, even lighter and better looking! But if you're just looking for a bit of power boost without concern for looks or getting that extra 1/2hp from mandrel then just get regular aluminized
