Obviously 69bhp won't cut it, but it doesn't seem to have a turbo... which every diesel engine should, and would need to be added. I would do a diesel conversion if the opportunity existed, but I'm sure there are other small diesel engines would work too. Can you imagine the fuel mileage increase though? It would be phenomenal.

Yeah, there is a lot of power to be made from diesels but it is all about torque. You figure my semi at work weighs roughly 21000 pounds w/ a cummins engine that makes 600hp. It doesn't seem like much, but look at the torque output on that thing. Then there's always the possibility to run bio-diesel if you wanted. I like the old Diesel VW rabbits!
