my escort had a white smoke problem, it was burning oil like crazy, it can be one of these things

1. Valve Cover Gasket
2. Piston Rings
3. Valve Guide Seals

it will be a pain in the ass fixing this problem

it most likely the valve cover gaskets since he already witness the failure.

the piston rings would do more than just send smoke down the exhaust. with as low mileage as he has it would be a true failure, not wear plus he would have gas in the oil.

valve guide seals are a possibility, but typically they only smoke on start up. and then grow more common.

but he witnessed the failure of the valve cover so that is the best spot to start.

yup, and plus it will smoke for a long time after you fix the problem if everything is not cleaned out good too

yea i drove today it didnt smoke...
meaning the 3 spark plugs that are in the oil arent running
i have basically one clean spark plug and another has very small amount of oil.
but i already ordered the gasket so thats the first thing thats getting changed.
