Ummm, at just over 50,000miles you shouldn't even be close to having to replace any internals of your engine. "Valve Stems" are the things in your tires fool. :lol: I think you meant Valve Springs, which again you are not even close to needing. As far as I know there is no other Intake Manifold available for the Aveo. Also, what fuel pump and fuel rail are you thinking you're going to run? I remember a girl from the old forum that had an AEM one, but I don't think it was actually for an Aveo.

should make some more horsepower with the cams I would hope, but I have beat on it a lot, and we did have 13 quarts of oil in it for 2 miles or so, which still amazes me that nothing got messed up

I highly doubt you had 13 quarts of oil in your aveo, as it's capacity is only 4.

I got a metal Thermo housing when I bought 'Actovan's Parts bin..

I haven't installed it yet @ 71k.

Since I'm writing that the plastic ones been fine all this time, It'll probably break this week.

Lol. But maybe not a bad idea to carry it arround on the spare tire well for the surprise time when I do need it.

I'm surprised I didn't think to bring it with me on my 24hr endurance run to Florida and back.

Just some side info -

The 2009 facelifted Aveo5, and newer Aveos have metal/aluminium thermostat housing.

And they have changed the stock dampers to Gas-type as well.

Does that mean something?

Yes, the old plastic thermostat housing has a design flaw which have been know to crack open under Normal usage like 40,000km ~ 80,000 km. As far as i know, 40,000km was a record here. Poor dude have to do a overhaul. Piston jammed due to overheating.

The original dampers are oil-type and have known to leak as early as 20,000km.

maybe i am the only person on the face of the planet who doesnt keep driving when the temp goes up and the coolant is obviously empty.

im glad my needle for the temp hasnt gone over yet and i even know that as soon as it starts to raise to stop the car.

And hunter if your doing all this stuff your gonna need to tune your ECU if you get performance cams and all that. dont wanna damage the tranny
