The best solution to swap from Auto to Manual with a turbo engine is the six speed Getrag M32 from the Opel/Vauxhall VXR models
Why you ask???
Simple.... it's a cable driven shifter so it requires next to zero work to get it functional.... you just need to drill two holes for the cables to go though the firewall.
With the D16/D20/F28 you need mechanical linkage.... meaning significant work to make it function.... and it must be bang on or you will not be able to shift or you will grind gears.
Is the F32 ( out of the Astra VXR ) cheap??
No..... it's probably going to be $2000 to get it here.... but I thought I'd mention it
