No additional mods, the car is stock, with a stock klze engine from japan, with the ecu that goes with it, all it has is a lightweight flywheel and a 2.5 inch exhaust all the way. Hes definitely in the mid 15's cause i raced him and i know him well.

Another one of my friends had the same car, same engine but it was turboed at 8 psi, he would make 13.5 sec runs. The tuning wasnt great as he mostly did everything himself. Hes now in the process of dropping another engine in cause the 1st one blew from over revving.

The mx3 is not that heavy, the GS model that came with the 1.8L v6 motor weighs in at 2580 lbs (the 2.5L version of the engine is the same motor with different bore, stroke and compression ratio), a 1st gen aveo is around 2350 lbs and the new gen is a WHOPPING 2570 lbs!!! (taken directly from the gm site, and double checked on google)

2570 lbs for a 2010 aveo!!! thats insanely heavy. So imagine if you have 2 guys in there at 200 lbs each, your pushing a nearly 3000 pound vehicle with 108 hp, no wonder theyre so slow.

small "hot" hatches are limited now a days because of the newer crash standards equipment.

compared to a mid 90's vehicle there is an extra 300 lbs in the add ons that were not present until recently.

the best cars for stock weight to power (really without an engine swap to newer engines) were late 80s early 90s cars that were light designs but fuel injected.

Yes, he took out the 1.8 liter 135ish hp v6 and dumped in a 2.5 liter 200ish hp v6.

Both engines are identical from the outside so its a direct fit, you can even use the stock 1.8 ecu with them without any problems.

This is what the 2.5L KLZE engine he put in sounds like, its way better then sex hahah

yeah, the stock v6 is bad, from what i have seen, mx3's are popular for engine swaps
