Re: Engine Swaps For Aveo ?
why would you want to? honestly there ar a few swaps that are a lot simpler, and would yield the same results. Unless you can get a complete low mile vtec swap for free..
I suppose you could get it in there, you would need the entire engine, tranny, wiring : probably most of the wiring to the car including gauges, you would need the shifter assembly, which would need custom mounted, custom engine mounts in the car, unless you modify the car to take the honda mounts, or frame. (i think the honda uses a front mount, nothing on this car to accommodate that.. ) You would need custom axles, or to swap the knucles etc over to the aveo, which would all be custom as well..
There are a few other manufacturer swaps that would be slightly more direct, and have just as much aftermarket support. If i was just looking for vtec, which is variable valve timing, the aveo already has that, or at least the ecotec does.
This is kind of the question that if you have to ask you really cant handle the swap.. so some more info would help.
Hunter will love this thread.

Wow, I don't even know where to begin. Are you serious? I'm sorry, not trying to be a dick, but this is like getting onto a Chevy s10 forum and asking if you can put a Ford 302 into it.

like rabbit said you would need everything for sure
because the engine itself turns in the opposite direction compared to ours
so if you were to hook it up to our tranny you would have 5 gear to go in reverse and only one to go forward
