Car Wash

Postby Chad » Wed Oct 14, 2009 12:53 pm

I'm interested to know what products you guys use on your cars to keep them sparkling.

As of now, I don't have a good area to wash my car at home, so, I usually venture off to the local car wash and spray it down...then spend some time after and dry it off (shamoix), Windex the windows and get all the streaks out. I like using black jack wipes on my tires.

Eagle 1 products look pretty good.

Any helpful hints or tips on good car wash stuff out there...??

My Wave is white.

Yes, I do go at late hours and take extra stuff with me...mitt, wheel brush, chamois (corrected spelling from previous post). I've used the brush at the car wash before, but, when I do I'll set it bristles-up on the ground and spray it out good with the pressure washer.

I get a lot of road tar speckles on the lower half of my fenders and doors and I find that regular washing sometimes doesn't get all that crap off. What's a good product to help scrub it away?

Also, I've got a small red scuff on my rear bumper panel from getting to close to a parking pole. No dent...just a scuff of paint from the pole...about half the size of a match. Is there anything good out there that'll take that scuff away?

paint transfer always comes off with thinner, wet a reg with that and wipe it off. dont do it if your surface paint is broken though, and possibly do a test area lower on the bumper underside.

when you are done dry it immediately with another rag, and wipe it with some polish to bring the shine back.

I use turtlewax car wash, and sometimes usually I use the cherry car wash at napa... forgot the name of it lol. After I squeege it with a windshiled wiper blade I keep lying around to keep it from getting water spots. When I feel up to it I also wax my windows.

I like the Armour All Blue concentrated car wash detergent is nice mild and lots of suds and dries almost spot free with simple wipe off with the "Sham-WOW".

BTW that ICE Wax that goes on with a sponge clear is really super nice. it hazes quickly and with a terry cloth or a microfiber buffing pad on an orbital buffer you can do the entire car in a whoppin 10 minutes from start to finish.
