So, i blacked out my headlamps as per the "tutorial" on the forum, and they look niice. BUT there is moisture in them!. I took them out again and dried them out, and I have resealed them with Windshield Silicone on every possible hole. So would the moisture be able to get into the assembly through the 3 little vents on the rear of the assembly? is there a way to stop it? I am holding off installing my HID kit until I can get rid of all of the moisture. Is there a way to seal the "vent holes" or even the lamp port?

the lamp holes in the back still have the rubbers on them?

a good way to check the seal would be to sprinkle baby powder on the outside of the lamp. Then put a hair drier on the socket hole then turn it on, if the dust gets disturbed there is a hole there.

make sure you only pull one bulb out, seal the vents on the back with tape, and also keep the lamp stationary so you dont disturb the powder yourself.

if you much, tape the hair drier to the socket to seal that to help "build pressure"

oh yeah. to get rid of the moisture, (are you in a warm climate?)

first put a vacuum on the opening (reverse of checking for leaks)

then buy a silica gel tub (or something similar) and seal them both in a container like a rubbermaid storage tote. and let it sit a few days.

if you dont have a few days. you can try to do it in the oven again too.

but a good day of the headlamp sitting in the sun will dry it out too.

There are 3 ushaped rubber hoses with sponges in them. There is also the rubber gasket around the headlamp itself.

Last time I used a hair Dryer and Left them inside overnight, and then resealed. It only worked for a couple of days.

This is on a 2008 Aveo5.

Would vaseline on all of the rubber gaskets help?

Hmmm, never heard of Vaseline. I posted all those pics of the how-to. I haven't had any problems with moisture in mine, but I put a lot of silicone on mine when I reassembled them.

try checking them for leaks first. odds of the rubbers letting in water are slim unless the got damaged lost in the process.

Yeah, I have never heard of using Vaseline to seal moisture leaks. Are the sponges in the tubes wet by chance?
