I put one of these on my buddy's Lancer this past winter and I'm really thinking of ordering one for myself for the Aveo. It looks like it should work with little modification. Rabbit, is there anything behind the driver's side of the front bumper below the headlight I need to worry about? What are yall's opinions? The reason I want to do this is because I'm currently making some metal grilles for my Aveo to replace my stock plastics so I can mount 4 high-powered HID fog lights behind the grilles. This is the one I put on my buddy's car, same one I want to get:

the end of the rebar and styrofoam are there. there is also a bracket attached to the rebar to hold the bumper cover up..
if you used like 6" drywall screws the window washer bottle is there..
how does it mount? i would stick a bracket through the fog cover grill and not hurt the cover..

It mounts with 3x 13mm bolts w/ lock nuts that are about 1.25" long, but I've been reading up on the EvoM forums and a lot of those guys just use 1" self tapping screws. Could work?

i would take an L bracket through the grill at the fog light hole and attach it to the rebar.. the put a t on that to hole the plate,.
not drilling holes in the bumper > having holes..
how strict is alaska on the front plate? could cut out all the vent openings in the lower center grill and mount the plate behind that.
the top half part that has the filled grill also has bumper cover behind it for mounting the plate.. it would be there and stealth at the same time..

Yeah, I don't care about it being hidden or anything. Alaska is pretty strict on the front plate. I can't block the fog grille, because I have fog lights there now. I need to clear that whole grille area though for my other fog lights. I may just have to play around with it and see what works best. I could always do like Chris did and mount the license plat over the bowtie to block it out. Hmmm...

I didn't mean block the foglight. Have the bracket point to up to be over the bumper cover.

Yeah, we'll see...I may just order the evo bracket and see how it looks. If I hate it I'll sell it.
