yup, even new tires would help too, the big brake kit is a bit costly for me, the conversion in the back seems more cost effective

i was under the impression 4 lug cobalts were drums in back, and 5 lug were discs.

$1000 fir that kit? and 12 rear brakes? way too big for our cars i think.

I have mine on the list to do, after coilovers, though. but you can have all frou corners done for about $1000. The rear depending on your choice of install for as little as $200 if you are a good shopper.

This is for a 8.9" rear, and 11" front. MORE than what our car really needs, and with widely available replacement parts.

it would be like $80-100 for the part to bolt the vw rear discs on with. the vw rear discs cab be had for about $100 with out looking for long, and new pads/rotors and bearing are another $100..

i bought a set of rear discs from a uullit yard in miami, it was $35 for everything but the pads bearings and rotor. So you can do it cheaper than that kit linked..

the only thing i havent checked it the brake line connection, but it could be as simple as reflaring the line with the proper thread for the flex line, or even just an an fitting adapter to thread the current line in..

i will also be making caliper adapters to put 11" g60 / 16v vw front brakes on too match, they will be in the same price ranges, so potentially you can have 11" fronts and 8.9" disc rears for like $600 if you know your way around finding good used parts..

600 isnt so bad... is the calipers the most expensive part of converting drums to disks?
