ive never been impressed with any kumhos ive owned..
dunlops came stock on my audis, ok. held well but not performance. in fact i has a cheap set of triangle talons that seemed better than the dunlops..
but they were more touring design not performance..

the kumhos I have are pretty good for the cheapest tires I could buy

I hate the Kumho's on my car. I really am leaning between the Nittos and Yokohama S-Drives.

I definately want to get some new wheels, but am worried about potholes if I run 16s with a 205/40 profile tire... so I'm leaning towards 16s with a 205/50 profile tire but will they rub even at stock height? I just have never ran 40 profile tires and not sure what to expect... I dont want to spend $600+ and waste it.

I ran 205/40/R17's up here and we have terrible roads. I only rubbed once or twice when I hit a really bad dip. You would be fine with 205/40/R16's. The stock 185/60/R14's are actually 8mm taller than that size, but the 16's in a 205 would be 20mm wider if it's a 7" rim versus the stock 6.5"...or .8 inches wider. If you want to keep your speedo accurate and stay close to stock wheel dimensions with 16's I would recommend 195/45/R16's. You would only be 10mm wider than stock or .4inches, and 4mm taller or .1inches. When your speedo reads 60 you would actually be going 60.4mph. It wouldn't really be low-profile with this set-up, you would have plenty of rubber.

I will definately be doing that then, only thing is I can get a package of 4rims+ tires mounted and balanced professionally for $696. That's 40/205 R16s though. The rim is 7in wide. Any issues with rubbing on those do you think? Really good to know you haven't had any issues Wolfman, if anything the roads are some of the roughest up there.

Yeah, that's a pretty good price. The best deal I could find was a set of Liquid Metal "Static" 16x7's w/ Yokohama S-Drives 195/45/R16 mounted and balanced with valve stems and chrome tuner lug kit shipped to your door in Mooer's Forks, NY 12959 was $831. Those wheels were the best looking in my opinion, but there are others that are cheaper, these ones were silver-faced like the other's you posted. I was using discounttiredirect.com.

Need some help again... I have searched and searched and came up with a Motegi 16in rim with 195/50 R16 tires on them, possible problems with rubbing? Since this would be equal to putting a 17in rim on with 195/40s would it look dorky at stock ride height? I really want these 16s with 50mm profile tire... wouldnt be too bad of a ride and would look nice I think.

Hey i was wondering if $650 for 15" rims with tires or $750 for 16" rims with tires is a good deal?
