Chevrolet Kalos 1.4 ABS warning Light

Postby Lakesider » Tue Oct 27, 2009 8:26 am

The ABS ligt came on when the cable under the drivers seat was accidently pulled, light cae on and has stayed on.

How do I turn it off ? I've ( rather other more qualified people) have tried and failed !

The local (40 miles) dealer wants £60.00 to trn the thing off. There are no issuses with ABS or sensors etc so this s doing my head in !

Would a system reset do it ?

So how can I do that ?

It's really bugging me now.

You can try turning the ignition on/off quickly 10 times, but only to power not all the way over to start. This will rest most systems.

you are certain it is the ABS light? not to insult intelligence.

how was the wire pulled under the seat? just disconnected or "pulled"

does your car has side airbags?

My car does not have ABS or i would have offered to help sooner. I am thinking though, maybe you tripped or shorted out the wire for the ebrake indicator, and the ABS system thinks you are driving with the ebrake pulled.

either that or your real problem is a tripped airbag circuit, or just an unrelated coincidence.

Thanks fellers

The cable was pulled , when my wife trie to retrieve an empty bottle fro under the seat.
This happenned once befoe . The car wasstill under warranty then so Chevrolet "fixed" the problem.

The airbag light seems to be controlled from under the passenger seat.
Yes this mode ldoes have side airbags.

What's an ebrake ? I'm not familiar with that term.
