Getting new wheels today but don't know what to get!

Postby Chris » Wed Jan 20, 2010 8:58 am

A friend of mine is selling her 2003 Vauxhall Astra SXI and has offered me the wheels but she also has a set of 17 inch BBS style rims in need of new tyres and a refurb. The Astras standard 16s are in very good condition and have brand new 205/50/16 tyres and the rims are multi spoke (google it coz I'm using the iPod for Internet). The 205/50/16s will make my car sit higher than the 17s will but Im stuck on what to choose! Help!

tough one, but a 205/45r16 rubbed like crazy on my lowered aveo, a 50series would be horrendous.

The bolt pattern is the same? i would need to see pictures.. ipod or not... links?

The BBS ones kinda look like the "lace" wheels on this page.

i would go with the vauxhall wheels myself, both would look good depending on what you did with the rest of the car..

are those audi wheels beside the lace wheels 4x100?

The alloys next to the lace ones look like Audi ones anyway! The 16s don't fit properly so I put one of the 17s on to check clearance and they look beautiful! So I just need to refurb them (what colour?) and get new 205/40s on. They're 7.5 wide with a 38 offset and are made by Stilauto. I'll post pics when they're fixed and on the car!

I love BBS style wheels. If you "have" to refinish them, you should go with a gunmetal grey color or silver. Black wouldn't look bad either.

Google "Stilauto Racing", that's the wheels I'm fitting.
