spax coilovers

Postby marmite369 » Wed Jan 20, 2010 12:54 pm

hi there im located in the uk and i live local to the spax main base in the uk and a little while back i went into find out about getting some coilovers made up for my car (my car being an 05 plate european kalos) but they wouldn't even look at the car specs unless i can get at least around 20 orders placed up front for them.now if i can find enough people interested i ammore than happy for my car to be used as a test for these coilovers for our cars but like i said i will be needing around 20 people interested and able to front the money for them asap if they were to go ahead with them

what would the cost be for a set (for US buyers are they VAT tax free?) are they going to be dampenng adjustable? etc? second question is how long until they are in our hands..

i think that is the big question. The are bolt on coil overs available for about $1100-1200 shipped now.

i have developed a bolt on "kit" to allow us to put coil overs in our cars. With basic coil overs the kit will be in the $600 range (i am guessing based on parts involved). But the coil over options will be endless, including SPAX. I should be able to have sets ready to go come late spring or early summer.

But i am always supportive of all possible solutions.

well when i asked the pricing one they said that until they actualy brought it in to check it over to see what would be needed they coulded give me a exact price but they did say for a adjustable set at the time it would be around 675 basic ones around 400 thats with fitting kits and built specific for our cars andnot cutom built kit either, but yeah basicaly if we can get some specs of what we would like them to actualy do then they could give a better price obviously

675 gbp would be @ $1100 US. If that includes VAT and we are not required to not that then it is $ 908 US.

plus shipping of course.

Hi all I am from the uk aswell and I use to work on alot of vauxhall nova's / corsa's and the back suspension is not far off a kalos / aveo. the front is not far of aswell.

but it looks like coilovers that you can get for the nova / corsa will fit spot on. if I can find some cheap I will give it ago.

I also have some old front shocks and springs so when I fit my alloys next week I will see if they fit

if they do I will let you all know as you can buy good coilovers for about £180 about $250 and say £100 to ship over to your side of the pond they could be a good cheap way of getting coilovers

for anyone that dont know what a uk vauxhall nova or corsa looks like go on google and have a look
