I think ABS is only for LT models. I'm glad I don't have it...It's just a pain really. I can see it being valuable to someone in a frequently rainy city, but up here on the ice and snow it really just makes trying to stop harder when in a slide.

xiaogarys method maintains the abs. that is the only big difference, and is necessary if you have abs and want to keep it.

a lot of work went into it his set up to keep the abs. And if you had abs it would be worth using his setup.

i do not have abs, so i dont need to do exactly what he does.

I don't have ABS myself.
Was just wondering how much work it would be to change over to disk. Even though I think the weight of the car does not justify disks in the back, but it makes for a good topic.
I will up grade the front brakes in a year. There’s a local company up here that makes sweet disks and pads.
I already priced it out for drilled and grooved disks and ceramic pads, $140.00 for the set.

Keep in mind this is an "economy car". Most do not come with ABS. My 04 is the highest model, an LS model, which was the LT model in 05 and later on. Mine came with the power locks/windows/mirror and the MP3 player, but no ABS. Then again...no cruise control either....

the stock stopping distance is 151 feet of whatever they normaly measure, no abs, other small cars in the segment average 133 or something stock, the rear disc should cut 20-30 feet off?

and with larger fronts it would be way shorter.
