Getting Some New Wheels

Postby WOLFMAN AK907 » Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:35 am

So, I'm going to order my new Drag DR20 rims next week in a 15x7 Black with machined lip +40 offset, which I will space to my liking. Those will be my new summer wheels, so I can go waay lower. For winter wheels I am trading my silver MSR 17's to my buddy for some wheels off his new Coraddo G60 1.8S he just got. They are MB Motorsport 16x7 Silver with 205/50/R16 Hankook Double-studded snow tires. The wheels have some minor rash on them, but I'll be completely re-painting them silver. Think these will have any problems with clearance?

The new rims:

And all these are of the new rims that are currently on the G60, that I'll be using for winter:

Yeah, I'm stoked for em'. I wish they had more offset options for them, but I'll make it work. I'm gonna need a 5mm spacer in the front, and I'm gonna need longer studs in the rear and I'll just have to play with some washers to get the spacing right, so I order the right size.

5mm is the least you need, in front. those rims look familiar.

Which rims look familiar Rabbit? Do you think 205/50/R16's will fit without rubbing?

Yeah, I'm thinking once I have coilovers I'll slam it on 15's for summer and leave it dropped about 1.5 below stock for winter. I think it should be fine. I mean adding spacers to the 16's in the right amount should help with rubbing too right?

Yeah, I searched and searched and finally found that calculator that HiTecRednec posted forever ago and realized my new winter wheels I'm getting will only be .66inches taller. I shouldn't have any clearance issues, just have to raise the coilovers up a bit for winter. :D

Anyone know any good sites to order rims and tires? I want to order my Drag DR20's next week. I think I'm gonna get 195/50/R15 Achilles ATR Sport tires. What do you guys think?

treadepot for tires. great prices and offering $25 off 250...

rims, possibly ebay for the standard offsets..

i find you can do better individually buying them than as a package most of the time.
