I have been in contact with Ultra Racing and this is a copy of a letter I got back.
I did remove a part that dealt with some privet issues.

Hi, Lars.

I understand that some people are commenting negatively on our kit price. So, I would like to offer some clarification that you may chose to pass along.

The price for the Super Hatch Kit represents our landed costs in Canada in Canadian dollars. If a Canadian were to purchase the products from the U.S. they could expect to pay additional duties, tariffs, taxes and/or brokerage fees because these products are not covered under NAFTA.

Our company has chosen to import quality bars and springs. There are other bars and springs out there, but no bars can compare to Ultra Racing for performance and Apex springs are easily comparable to Eibach. The bars, in particular, add an important safety element by strengthening the chassis. Both product lines have been designed for racing, not necessarily show'n'shine.

Thank you, Lars, and I'll get back to you soon.

Phil Wakefield.

Ok but that doesn't help anyone in the US. Which I think many of are from the US. Would be nice if they were a little more detailed with thier explanation.

Like this part costs X amount and whatever tax is etc etc....Then it wouldn't seem like they are just taking a few bucks off.

yeah i thought it was a sponsership or something like that, i guess a discount is decent but your have to promote their product for $100

i would gladly sponser a company and go to shows and such, but the rewards would have to be somewhat decent

I was waiting for this to happen, they are made by ultra racing in singapore or malaysia. And it you shop their sight, with the shipping and such it comes out to almost the same prices, the deal they are offering is a little better than those prices actually. So i believe they might be doing this at their cost.

The only thing readily available is the springs. They responded to me with a kit that does not include the springs for a similar savings (also linked in the shopping) that i think you are all comparing the "savings" too. I am not sure what their profits are, but i think the only thing that needs clarified is the stickers, return they get.

$100 is actually a lot of money for a 1"x6" sticker (or two) and a testimonial in an email. Considering that most people do that with other products for free when they pay full price.

yeah but reading their list of things, you gotta take many pics, and sell their brand aggressively (car shows and such)

still, send $800 of parts to someone and get all kinds of advertising, i would try to sell their stuff like crazy lol

You don’t need to do shows, but they do want to know how you are going to promote their parts.
Yes, I’m sure it isn’t cheap to ship all those parts.
I was not bothered with what they wanted for getting the discount, but could not afford the cost. This is racing class parts and they are not cheap nock offs, so I guess you get what you pay for.
I’m still planning on getting some of their parts, but not this package one.

advertising cost money :P

i dont mind that they are giving us a discount, but damn anyone who reads it will think it is a sponsership though, they should change the wording to clear the confusion

I never expected them to give the stuff away. I know shipping cost too. (I can easily cover shipping) But it is hard for me to believe that they are only covering there costs. If so it is no wonder noone makes parts for the Aveo. If thats all they make off the parts then they need to rethink their costs. I can't imagine they are doing enough volume in Canada to make it worth thier while at that profit margin...

I'm not going to say I don't want to buy from them. But I may look a little more for a US based distributor before I buy, so I don't have to pay Canadian taxes.
