an 08 hatch? if so that is before the design change. The 09's have a different engine, a different dash, and We require a different radio adapter too.

Please post a link to the origin of this info you found and the original poster. Thanks, this is useful...I desperately need an autostart on mine.

I know this is an old thread but I want to put a remote start on My 09. Did you find the correct diagram and how hard was it?

aveorob got mad after an argument, deleted all his "contributing" posts and left.

as for remote start, what does your starter call for? for the price of buying one, it is worth it to have installed by a pro, imho.

Well someone gave Me a brand new remote starter with the passlock bypass, I have installed alarms, radios etc so I figured I would just do it myself But the schematic would be helpful as to where all the wires are located to make things go quicker. I have all the testers I need but I would rather not have to search out every wire. Was just looking for a little insight from someone that has done it.

ok, i thought you were looking for an answer from the aveorob.

i have schematics. if you can tell me what it tells you it wires into (which wires you need according to their directions) then i can tell you where to find them.

No actually it looks like Wolfman has an 09 that installed one. But here are the wires:
Brake input
Horn
glow plug
parking light
engine detect input(tach)
door lock
door unlock
Hood input safety switch
Ignition wire
Accessory wire (switched )
Starter output

Yeah, I put a remote start and security on my 09' this past January. What a pain! It took me all day. I have a Clifford "SmartStart" that is controlled from my iPhone from anywhere I have cellular service. I got the diagram from Directed Electronics and it was still wrong, I had to troubleshoot it for about 7 hours. Mine when you come to a stop to park it, you have to press the brake first, pull the e-brake, and press the start button on the remote, pull the key out and it will still be running, shut the door and then lock them with the remote and the car will shut off. Mines cool though, you can set it to run however long you want, start at whatever tempature you want and you can check the tempature inside the car from the remote or your iPhone.
