time for new front speakers

Postby 4g63gst20 » Sun Sep 13, 2009 8:26 pm

ok well i just tinted my windows, and now is time to upgrade the speakers,
i'm looking at the infinitys on crutchfield.com for the front http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1086022Si/Infinity-Reference-6022si.html?c=3

i read on this website that 6.5' can be installed with adapters, where can i get this adapter? and also read that the depth has to be less than 2", this are 1 13/16 so this should fit right?
i wanted to go with components but they are too deep.

You can make your own adapter rings or you can purchase a pair of spacer rings. The doors are shallow but if you add a spacer you can get some nice speakers in the doors. Personally I am running with slim mount midbass speakers in the doors instead.

I was planning on doing this as well with some 6 1/2" Pioneers...didnt think it would work. Can anyone direct me to some pictures? I would really like to see these installed.

Also, 4g63gst20, did you get them installed? If so, did you leave the door alone or did you cut out the hole and use the Infinity speaker grille?
