I love toyotas, but only certain models. I like the 80's Celicas and I owned a few 80's SR5's pick-ups. My highest milage toyota had 342K miles on it with one rebuild at 194K. Good truck.

i put 400k miles on a car, i bought it for $600 with 179k and when i was done it gave it to a friend, with the stipulation when he was done with it he had to ask me to find the next owner for him to give it to. It went through 4 of my friends and another 200k miles, and then ended up sold to a guy for $500. It was in my "watch" for 8 years.

easily 800k on that car. And i took the head off at around the half million mark, and everything was still in spec amazing. At that same time i upgraded it to a 5 speed from the 4 speed and made my own shortened driveshaft (tranny was longer).

it was an 1982 chevette scooter. not even a good model chevette.

I'd recommend positioning the window cranks in such a way so the window can be down just a crack for parking ventilation, but with the handle pointing up. This prevents someone hooking the knob and lowering the window enough to get an arm in, or a pole to reach the opposite door and unlock.

It's a piece of felt that came from my snooker table when I recovered it. I still can't see in the back but I'm not blinded by it.

Here's my list of annoyances.

In no particular order, and there all mild annoyances..

The Brakes... they don't stop the car as well as I'd like. I mean, in normal situations. They work fine in hard stops, but for daily driving, I'd like a more initial grab. Seems like the car wants to roll on forever.

The Steering... Ever since the dealership tweaked my alignment settings, I cant stand the way the car steers. It all over its lane all the time.

Acceleration... the warmer it gets, the more my aveo chuggles (minor) between 1-2,000 rpm. It's done this since new. Dealership didn't know what the problem was. I was told a fuel injection service might be needed-not covered by warranty, yet the car was brand new. I let it go. It doesn't do it as much anymore. maybe just a late break in issue?

Thats it. All else has been good.

Oh and the way drinks block the hvac controls, thats annoying.
