09 rear lights

Postby Chris » Wed Oct 14, 2009 12:39 pm

Being a euro car my 'veo has to have a red foglight on the drivers side (right) and it sits in place of the reverse light meaning my lens is red at one side and white at the other. Ive tried finding a lens from a lhd euro car and the U.S but having no luck. I want the rear to be even so my options are to tint them red or black. Another way is to buy aftermarket lamps for an older model and extend the bottom with a reflector to fill the gap in the bumper. Any ideas or suggestions?

I will have to check that out! Still going to look into modding some older aftermarket lights.

if you want to run earlier lights you could run an early bumper, or if you wanted to keep the style. you could fill the bumper and repaint it.

Might as well wait for aftermarket 09 lights. Hopefully wont have to wait long!

Just get an 04-08 Aveo5 rear bumper cover, then you can run all those cool aftermarket tailights these 1G guys have. I thought about doing it, but I'm just gonna cram LED's into mine and smoke them out. I'm doing my headlight mod as we speak.

I dont really wanna change my bumper coz then I'd have to paint the new one. I could smooth out the holes that were left and save money though...... heres a mock up with the holes left in place.

That sounds like a lot more work. I never even noticed your taillight was different until you said something.

you could cut and shape a piece of plastic and paint it gloss black and putthose in the hole, it might look like it is part of the tail light.

That's the only thing I don't like about the 2G aveos are the taillights. One of the frist things I did to my car was put in the led smoked taillights (the pic is my avatar) I wish I had the front end they had though, it looks mean!
