Problem

Postby alex » Wed Nov 18, 2009 12:02 am

Hi everyone! hey! i was driving with my friends last night and on my panel a red light wich indicates the airbag status stayed red... on the owners manual says it means electrical problems with the air bag,,,, I just dont want to take it to the dealers and get ripped off... Is this a bad issue? Has anyone had this problem? thanks take care!

take a pic of the light if possible

reset the car, disconnect the battery for a few hours

if your friend was sitting in the passenger seat it arms the airbag, if he was not wearing a seat belt it triggers the light. (on mine anyhow) if you never had a passenger before then the switch in the seat is probably stuck.

well I rarly have ppl in my car.... and my friend is verry heavy :|
Most of the time who i have in that seat is my g friend. Ill reset battery. I ask cuz I dont want to take my car to the dealer. They work slow... One time my Shift sensor's on my Auto tranny stoped working and they dint let me remove the key. For that it took them 1 month..... and they scrached all my dash and shift. I had to go there and fight for another month so they get me a new one... I want to avoid them unsless is really an issue... The icon is red. Its a little human cartoon sitting with the seat belt and a circle in front of him. that its the air bag. thats how the icon looks like. Ill try the battery thing. Take care guys
