They both make many sizes and configurations of turbos. Mitsubishis are more commonly used on OEM turbo cars than Garrett, thus they are generally smaller. Garrett also offers a huge range of aftermarket turbos sized from 100hp - 1200hp+. Bottom line is that either company can supply you with a turbo that will fit your power range.
Good turbine for the aveo?
Re: Good turbine for the aveo?
You guys do realize that Mitsubishi and Garrett are just brands right?

^Truth, hell, you can go buy a turbo for a moped if you wanted.
I looked inquisitively at my beer and wondered, why aren't you in my belly?
Re: Good turbine for the aveo?
My presumption was that they were using the Garrett and Mitsu to converse about factory turbos.
With cars I had in the past. The forums I was with. Mitsu turbo meant a couple particular years, small.
Garrent meant a few more years and a little bigger. In both cases they were factory. From there, general terms were used. TI, TII, S(uper)60, S70, and VNT. There are so many options out there, no one cared about the specifics unless asked.
Anyway, the reason I posted:
Are there any US options for the 2.0 T engine that slip into the Aveo?
OR
Do I need to have Precision shop a car out for me and I will drive/trailer it down to WA?
OR
How much would it cost to dump a rebuilt Lemans (or whatever) engine in my Aveo if I brought it up north?
How long would the build take?
Any updates on that other Aveo you guys did with the Lemans engine? Sweet build
Thanks
Jason

I find most like the Garrett factory turbo. They seem to be the one's people look for the most.

Id love to see a tiny ass turbo like that on the Aveo! Although I would assume the exhaust flow would be too mch for and it would tear itself to shreds lol. Maybe if you just made a header with two ports flowing into the turbo and and 2 flowng like an NA exhaust and they join up at a Y where the cat is.... then there is the lack of air it can actually push ... Would be funny though.

Just upgrade the bearings and make sure you got good lube and you should be fine. Maybe upgrade to highend wheels for good measure. I'd be more concerned about it pulling enough air
You can't believe everything you read on the internet, after all that's how World War 1 was started.
