Brake drums and Studs
Does anyone know if our brake drums are threaded for the studs to screw into?

Yeah the studs are pressed in. You can easily change them with a big hammer and punch.

Crap, then these spacers won't work. Picked the part number off of H&R's website.
Got to figure out some way to get them to work. Thought they would come with extended studs. Nope, they came with bolts.
They are 20mm and the spacer is not thick enough to clear the lug nuts.

Maybe your supposed to put your lugs through the spacer and bolt the spacer to the drum where the lugs were? Idk, I never worked with spacers much. I'm a dubber, I just throw -offset wheels on it.

If I understand correctly what you are explaining, I was wondering the same thing. But from what I understand with our brakes, it does not work.

Hmmm, idk. It looks like you're just supposed to use the stock acorn nuts to attach the spacer to the hub, and bolt the wheel on? I mean Lug "Bolts" aren't uncommon, that's what almost all German cars use. Idk, that's odd. That's what it looks like anyways.

Re: Brake drums and Studs
H&R typically only makes "vw" specific (wheel bolt) spacers.. unless you buy their premium adapter design.
you can get around this, in a few ways, but it will not be easily made to word.
if you only have one set of holes you will need longer studs, jegs and summit both sell long studs. you will need to replace them
if you have an adapter style you need a low profile nut to bolt them on, and then cut off the excess stud. the will be the only way to do it unless your wheels are dual drilled and your studs go into the other holes while the adapter bolts down tight.
i would be fine with either option maybe not the 8 mm you will need to take off the stud, because you would need to replace the stud if you remove the spacer. but you are going to need to replace them at some point it seems, so its whether you want to do it before or after..

I might go longer studs.
Where could I find shorter lug nuts? All of them around here are a same generic size.

not sure of the depth. get the 17mm size..
